Ziploc Supremacy
I could not be more passionate about the topic of this blog. I have spent many a late night laying awake making mental pros and cons lists about this very topic. As you will come to read, it’s not even close. No seriously. This will be a short essay, but the brevity of this post does not speak on the importance, nor brain space this takes up daily in my life.
I am of course speaking of the question burning in all our hearts; what Ziploc bag is best?

Maybe this is new information to you, but “Ziploc” is actually a brand! Press seal bags, plastic bags, reusable bags, and seal again bags. These are all the technical names for the product we have come to love, Ziploc.
As many of you have also experienced, I have lived my life using these bags on almost a daily basis. From gold-fish crackers to ham and cheese sandwiches, this bag does it all. Perfectly keeping your food safe, secure, and fresh. If you can believe it, it does even more than keep your food fresh. I grew up with a crafty, sometimes obsessed, organized mother. Everything in my life has been put in those tiny, plastic bags and labeled with a black Sharpie in case I couldn’t see through the clear exterior. How helpful! It must have rubbed off because I still use Ziploc bags almost every day.
Occasionally, a new style of Ziploc bag would be introduced to my daily routine. This bag was different. It felt like it was from the future. A perfect feat of technology. But just as miraculously as it entered my life, it exited. It was back to the same old Ziploc bags, day in and day out. But I was changed by this bag, and one day we would reunite.
This futuristic bag I speak of is called the Ziploc Easy Zipper.

This bag blows the classic Ziploc Sandwich Bag out of the water. The technology of this bag is good. A simple squeeze over the seal of this bag closes it as long as you don’t miss a spot. The thickness of this bag feels minimal but gets the job done with a little bit of stretch. Overall, a solid bag.
The Ziploc Easy Zipper takes everything that the classic Ziploc Sandwich Bag is, and levels it up a notch. The thickness of the bag is far superior, making whatever precious goods are inside feeling safe and secure. The pièce de résistance is the plastic zipper. This ensures that you will get a tight seal, EVERY time you close your bag. If you need to let the air out, you do not need to dig your fingers into the seal and open it a crack to let some air out, then squeeze it shut. All you have to do is slide the zipper over an inch, squeeze some air out, and slide the zipper back in place. IT’S JUST SO EASY.
